Dear Friends:

 

Acting on my recommendation, the Oklahoma City Concert Band Foundation Board has voted to suspend all activities for the remainder of the spring season.  While this decision was very difficult to make, we feel that in the current environment this decision is in the best interest of our membership and audience, and reflects the decisions being made by most professional arts organizations in then area.  I want to thank the board of directors for their very thoughtful discussion and decisive action on this matter.  I personally want to thank everyone in the band for season that will be remembered as enriching, challenging and one of musical growth.  We anticipate that we will be past this national emergency—COVID-19 will be a distant memory—and our summer season will begin on Tuesday, June 2nd as scheduled.  Please look for announcements on the band website, www.okcband.org and via email.  The board and I wish you and your family the best as we navigate this unprecedented time in our history.
